These terms outline our agreement — what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you. Our practice is built on trust, transparency, and care; these terms protect both of us.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Sullivan & Sullivan provides marriage, family, and individual counseling — including grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety and depression, and relationship and family challenges. Sessions are currently offered via secure telehealth, with in-person sessions available in the future. Services are provided to clients located in North Carolina. We do not provide psychiatric services, medication management, or emergency crisis intervention. If your needs fall outside our scope, we'll discuss it openly and provide referrals.
FEES & PAYMENT
$120 per session · about an hour · due at time of service. We're committed to making care accessible — a limited number of reduced-fee spots are available; please don't let finances be the reason you don't reach out. Payment is accepted via credit, debit, and HSA/FSA cards through our secure payment system. We are private pay only and do not bill insurance directly. A Good Faith Estimate of costs is provided before services begin, as required by the No Surprises Act.
CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS
24-hour notice required. Your time is reserved specifically for you; please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule so it can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to charge a fee for late cancellations or no-shows. Life happens — if something unexpected arises, reach out as soon as you can and we'll work through it together. Repeated late cancellations may affect our ability to continue working together.
COMMUNICATION & BOUNDARIES
The primary place for our work is within scheduled sessions. Between sessions, we're available for brief administrative contact — scheduling, billing, logistics — through our secure messaging system or email. We're not available via text, social media, or personal email, and we aim to respond within two business days. Please don't use between-session messaging for clinical or crisis concerns.
To protect your privacy, we don't accept friend or follow requests from current or former clients on personal social media, and we'll never initiate online contact outside approved clinical channels.
ENDING OUR WORK TOGETHER
You may end counseling at any time, for any reason — we simply ask for a closing conversation if possible, because endings matter. We may also initiate termination if our services no longer meet your clinical needs, or if the relationship is no longer productive; in those cases we provide referrals and will never abandon a client in crisis. Outstanding balances remain due upon termination. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, and may be updated periodically.
